THE ISSAM FARES INSTITUTE FOR PUBLIC POLICY AND INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS
This one-day conference presented the results of an investigation of the state of non-formal education in the MENA region, addressing curriculums developed to improve the success of such education, highlighting critical thinking and emotional intelligence within this context, and providing an overview of factors that encourage engagement in non-formal education. Experiences of organizations coordinating non-formal education in Lebanon were showcased. A keynote address titled “Promoting and Assessing Critical Thinking Skills” was also delivered by Dr. Gregory Light of the Searle Center for Advancing Learning and Teaching at Northwestern University (USA).
