The AUB Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs (IFI) organized a Paper Discussion on “Security of Oil and Gas Pipelines in the Middle East.” The discussion was held online over Zoom on Thursday, February 17, at 4:00 pm Beirut time.
This webinar discussed Dr. Naji Abi Aad’s analysis recently published by the Issam Fares Institute which looks at the historical trends of the major oil and gas pipelines of the Middle East, and dives into their operational patterns and the reasons behind their continuous shutdowns. It also highlighted the interlinkages between the latter and the political stability of the region. Additionally, the discussion shed light on the new realities of the global gas markets and their impact of the overall energy sector. Watch the rerun here. The AUB Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs (IFI) organized a webinar to present and discuss the results of a poll conducted on Lebanon by the Zogby Research Services and sponsored by the American Task Force on Lebanon. The webinar titled “In a Failing State: What Do the Lebanese Want?” was held over Zoom on Tuesday, February 15, at 6:00 pm Beirut time.
The poll, which was conducted in September 2021, surveyed 869 Lebanese adults to solicit their attitudes on Lebanon’s economic crisis, confidence in government institutions, Lebanon’s relations with other countries, the upcoming 2022 elections, and the political system at large. The webinar was an opportunity to present the poll’s results and analyze and comment on the findings from psychological and political perspectives. Watch the rerun here. |
