THE ISSAM FARES INSTITUTE FOR PUBLIC POLICY AND INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS
On April 30, 2024, our Institute in partnership with Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) Lebanon launched the” Vulnerability Policy Tool.” Developed for 123 Lebanese coastal municipalities, the tool will allow them to build climate change resilience, and help them understand, identify, and manage vulnerabilities. The launch and discussion took place in the presence of FES Lebanon’s Resident Representative Merin Abbas, IFI's Communications Manager Marina Chamma, IFI’s former Director of Climate Change & Environment Dr. Nadim Farajalla, Climate Change team members Manale Abou Dagher, Celine Yazbek and Samir Nassar and local stakeholders.
IFI, in collaboration with Badil – The Alternative, hosted a closed discussion for heads of Lebanese syndicates on April 15, 2024. The discussion was centered around a study by Mohamad Farida titled “Lebanon’s Last Chance for A Progressive Deposit Recovery Plan,” published in December 2023.
The Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs hosted a talk by Dr. Asbed Kotchikian , Chair of the International Relations & Diplomacy (IRD) Program at the American University of Armenia (AUA), titled “Small State (in) Security(ies): Challenges and Opportunities?” on Friday, April 5, 2024.
