 IFI’s Climate Change & Environment (CC&E) Program, in collaboration with UNDP Lebanon and the Ministry of Environment held a technical discussion titled “From Global to Local: Climate Change Projections and their Impact on Lebanon’s Vulnerable Sectors” on March 7, during which the results of Lebanon’s Fourth National Communication on Climate Change were presented. Panelists and participants discussed climate risk projections, sectors’ vulnerability to climate impacts, and the implementation of effective climate resilience tools. CC&E researcher Celine Yazbek discussed the climate policy tools developed by the program and used to assess vulnerable coastal cities across Lebanon. The policy tools were developed to increase local authorities and communities’ resilience to the impacts of climate change. Meanwhile, CC&E Director Dr. Nadim Farajalla moderated the “Climate Change Impacts and Vulnerability” session and presented specific case studies based on projects conducted by IFI.
