The AUB Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs (IFI) and the Swedish Dialogue Institute for the Middle East and North Africa organised a panel discussion titled “How Inclusive is a Sustainable Tomorrow?” on the occasion of this year’s International Women's Day 2022. The discussion was held over zoom on Thursday, March 10, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm Beirut time.
The webinar, through a presentation and a panel discussion, aimed to cover the importance of the contribution of women and girls around the world to build a more sustainable future for all. This year’s webinar built on The United Nations’ theme “Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow” by bringing different perspectives from grassroots activists to institutional peace and security actors and academics. The Presentation covered the SDG’s x WPS Reporting Toolkit and was followed by a panel discussion which highlighted the importance of diversifying peace-building processes across different aspects of sustainability from a gender-inclusive perspective, including the sustainable development goals, energy, water, and climate change, among others.
